The DJ set from the Kela gig is now available on the choonage page; not the usual but an hour and fifteen minutes warming up from B Boi Breakz through some JumpUp and finishing off with a couple of CheShA specials to get the crowd fired up, which all went down well (even if I say so myself).

I’ve also upgraded various parts of the site today with the net result that the image galleries are a bit broken and probably will be until I get off my lazy fat arse and fix them which knowing my track record could be months (How long have the article pages been borked? Who knows), but hopefully will be over the Christmas break. Finally, according to some web “professionals”, the site is now fully Web 2.0 compliant because I’ve added a reflection to the main logo image. How very of-the-now.

an extra area with “personal” pics too, so all my friends can see stuff I’ve collected but since this is a dual purpose portfolio and personal site, I though I would segregate them from things I made, which will mean making it “members only”!!

The site has now been migrated to the new CMS, so while it does in fact look almost exactly the same as version 2.0, it now has much more scope for improvement. Anyone that is seeing some pages a bit squiffy should wise up and get a decent standards-compliant browser immediately! The site has long been in the making, this should really be termed either version 1.0 (since it’s the first version in around 5 years that I’m happy with as being ‘complete’) or version 8,000,000.0 (since there have been so many complete revamps begun but that have lost steam before being put out to pasture without ever seeing the cold light of day). But I’m happy with this system for now, it is flexible and will let me do everything I need to do. I’m looking forward to finally putting all that content I have stored up somewhere where it can be appreciated.

The problem I have is in trying to create a CMS’ed site without looking like a tacky CMS! I think I’ve done OK so far, but the blog posts could still do with some work. If anyone’s out there reading this, please please let me know what you think and any ideas you might have for how to improve this.

Here’s looking forward at a new beginning for some self-publicity opportunities; maybe I can get back to writing some tunes now!
Cris
